And in the end, all that really matters is Papa gets a sandwich.

When Paul Westover sent me his great guest strip, it gave me the idea to lead to this one.  I thought it would be funny if Mick was getting his butt kicked by Papa without knowing it.   Hope you enjoy it!

I’ve also been talking with Carlos Samudio of Hopper & Black Frog Comics in Austin, TX about putting out a paperback compilation of all of the strips (in fact, this week’s would be the last of the book…obviously I will not be using the guest strips so I wrote these last two so you could get the joke without Paul’s guest strip).  It’s going to be a horizon format (like the old Garfield books) but I’m thinking of going with a cover similar to this mock up I made a week or so ago.  Carlos published the BtI comic book and we’ve had a blast at conventions.  Looking forward to more!

Paul Westover’s awesome guest strip last week gave me a few ideas to keep it going for a couple of strips, so I hope you enjoy it!

This strip was done with a whole different process for me.  I inked it all together in Illustrator as the whole strip instead of just doing character by character.  I still used Photoshop for colors and text but I’m working towards a complete Illustrator production one of these days.

I just started playing Words With Friends on my iPhone and one of my first games was against Paul Westover, the artist for the webcomic Woody After Hours.  I got beat.  I got beat bad.  It was ugly…I was hoping for some kind of slaughter rule but the onslaught continued.  I’m sure he was making up words at one point and created an entirely new language.

The nice thing was, he felt so bad about it he drew me this great guest strip!  I love Paul’s art style and have been after him to do one for awhile.  Little did I know that by being so bad at a game it would guilt him into it.  So let that be a lesson…play me in Words With Friends and if you beat me, I will be expecting some kind of consolation artwork!

I admit it…my iPhone is naked. I tried to put on one of those screen protectors and had an even worse time of it than Papa did here. Every now and then, I go back and buy one like revisiting that old crappy relationship you once had. Nothing changes. I still can’t put the stupid thing on with smudges, fingerprints, bubbles and wrinkles.

And thus ends the Papa vs. Technology storyline…for now. I’m sure I’ll come up with some gags for it down the road
